We stopped here overnight while heading south from St Malo. The hotel was first class, spotlessly clean, and the staff were excellent. Dinner was one of the best we've had in a while, a fine dining experience. Breakfast was the letdown: it was very limited, and we were charged 12 euros for a coffee.

The food was excellent and the service very kind. It's a little paradise in a former watermill on the Vilaine river, just a few minutes from Rennes center. The same family has owned it for about a century. To get downtown, bus C6 runs every 10 minutes and costs €1.50 per person. There's a bakery just across from the hotel where you can pick up local cookies to take home.

The manager and her team were consistently kind and courteous, which made the weekend much more enjoyable. The rooms were great, and from mine I could see beautiful scenery and wildlife, including otters, birds, fish, and frogs. The dinner for the wedding celebration was breathtaking to me, with real quality and thought behind it. Breakfast was more than enough, and the homemade Far Breton made me smile every time. I stayed three nights for the wedding celebration. Cesson Sevigne is a very quiet suburb of Rennes, with little to entertain adults, so plan on driving or taking taxis to explore Rennes. There's plenty of parking around the hotel.

I've lived in Cesson-Sevigne for the past two years and have eaten at this restaurant 4-5 times since then. The food is great. It's not especially cheap, at 25-40 Eur per person with a glass of wine, but it's definitely worth it.
