The food was a real highlight, with lovely dinners served in the dining room and a generous, talented chef behind them. The whole staff works hard to make guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay. The Grange des Ecrins is also in a great spot. We’d happily recommend it.

The meals alone made this stay special. We booked dinner for all five nights, and Meg and Jean served a different multi-course menu each evening. Meg’s cooking has a gentle Asian touch, and the pear and almond tart is still on my mind. Even the other restaurants we looked into couldn’t compare, especially when it came to dessert. They also use fresh fruit from their front yard, and you can tell how much care goes into the food. Jean helped us get to know the region, too. He recommended local places and even took us to a milk farm to try milk fresh from the source. We got to discover paragliding, canyoning, local beer and honey makers, a cheese farm, a milk farm, sailing, the two zip lines, and plenty of little local finds we’d never have come across ourselves. He has a real knack for showing visitors everyday life in the French Alps, where even the food seems richer thanks to the mountain water. The house sits high on a hill with a peaceful view of the French Alps. The sunsets from the lounge and dining room were almost unreal, and I could have sat there for hours. There’s a lot of room to wander around the property, including a small, quiet lounge among the trees below the house. Our room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with a calm, comfortable feel as soon as we walked in. The house itself felt beautifully local, and the mountain views were breathtaking. Meg and Jean looked after us with so much warmth and attention that it felt like five-star hotel service. Honestly, this was the best bed and breakfast experience I’ve ever had. We hope to return. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Meg and Jean!

We spent four nights at the Grange with family and friends, and it was a fantastic break. Jean, Meg and JB took care of everything from booking and activities to apéro and five-course dinners. If you love nature, I highly recommend it. There’s plenty to do nearby, from hikes at different difficulty levels to swimming in lakes and visiting small villages. The kids enjoyed playing games and ball games around the grange. We’ll definitely come back for the scenery and La Grange Des Écrins’ amazing meals.

We loved the private outdoor spots around the property, each a comfortable place to spend time outside. The whole setting felt peaceful and relaxing, with a dreamy touch. My husband and I came to La Grange for an idyllic long weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and JB made us feel at home and made sure we had what we needed. The food and service were impeccable. We can’t wait to return.

We were new to the area, so the detailed travel tips from the hosts made it easy to put together a full, enjoyable itinerary. The team was so welcoming, and the food was outstanding, with creative Asian and European flavors. Our accommodation was spotless and comfortable, and there were well-developed facilities nearby. The new zipline was fun for the kids, though it has some risks and needs adult supervision. I imagine the scenery is even more beautiful in winter. We’d love to come back if we get the chance.
