What stood out to me most was how helpful the staff were. Weekend breakfast normally starts at 8am, but a few of us needed to leave early and they were happy to open an hour sooner. They also arranged for someone to let us into the garage at 6am. I doubt many hotels would have done that. The hotel is right in the town centre, close to bars and restaurants, in a pretty old building that's been refurbished well. There's a lift to all floors. Our double room and bathroom weren't very big, but the bed and pillows were really comfortable. There was no air con, so we opened the windows for fresh air and had to put up with some street noise as people went home from the bars.

It's right in the centre, with restaurants and cafes nearby. There's a very good meat restaurant across the square called Gaston, and a free parking spot about a five-minute walk away on Av. du Marechal Leclerc. We stayed four days. The team were friendly and had a bit of humour, which I always like. Even early in the morning, they were in a good mood when I showed up feeling hungover :D. Breakfast was simple, fresh and complete at the time. My German taste buds and my friend's French ones were both happy, and the staff were cheerful and attentive then too, even with my early-morning hungover mood, though I was polite of course :D. The standard room had everything you need. It was really clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and you could sleep with the door open without hearing anything.

Our quad room had quite a bit of space and a fan, and the beds were very comfortable. It was on a lovely square in beautiful Chalons en Champagne. It was so hot that we needed to keep the window open, which meant some noise from the bar below. The room had a bath but no shower.

The staff were very friendly, and the location was great. The rooms felt clean and modern, but the renovations were quite bland and took away the old charm. No fifth star from me because there's no free Wi-Fi.

Very central, and the rooms are basic but clean. The main square stays extremely noisy all night, so if you want to sleep, ask for a room at the back of the building.
