Hotel du Pot d'Etain

It's right in the centre, with restaurants and cafes nearby. There's a very good meat restaurant across the square called Gaston, and a free parking spot about a five-minute walk away on Av. du Marechal Leclerc. We stayed four days. The team were friendly and had a bit of humour, which I always like. Even early in the morning, they were in a good mood when I showed up feeling hungover :D. Breakfast was simple, fresh and complete at the time. My German taste buds and my friend's French ones were both happy, and the staff were cheerful and attentive then too, even with my early-morning hungover mood, though I was polite of course :D. The standard room had everything you need. It was really clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and you could sleep with the door open without hearing anything.

Our quad room had quite a bit of space and a fan, and the beds were very comfortable. It was on a lovely square in beautiful Chalons en Champagne. It was so hot that we needed to keep the window open, which meant some noise from the bar below. The room had a bath but no shower.

The staff were very friendly, and the location was great. The rooms felt clean and modern, but the renovations were quite bland and took away the old charm. No fifth star from me because there's no free Wi-Fi.

Very central, and the rooms are basic but clean. The main square stays extremely noisy all night, so if you want to sleep, ask for a room at the back of the building.
