The room, number 11, was tiny, as was the bathroom. Getting to the shower meant stepping over the toilet, and the plastic shower space was only 70 cm square. We got two very small towels. There was no internet, and the manager was no help. I never met them since everything happens without seeing anyone. My attempts to get Wi-Fi working went nowhere, with answers like “It usually works” and “Maybe you have some apps open.” There was no sense of customer service. The view and cleanliness were the only positives. There’s no parking, and the shared areas of the hotel can’t be accessed, which is absurd. As someone from the area, I think there are much more welcoming places. I felt the owners had no interest in guests. €70 is too much, I’d consider €40 acceptable. You can easily find somewhere better nearby.

The view over Lake Chambon is magnificent, and the beach parking lot is fairly big. It only charges between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, so we left before ten and came back after six. There’s no private parking. I booked for two people, three nights, on the first weekend of August, just a week ahead, and paid almost €260. That seemed reasonable to me, especially since the reviews I’d read beforehand weren’t very good. The bathroom is small but bearable. I knew cooking wasn’t allowed, so I brought a little camping stove and we made a few meals indoors. There’s no ventilation, and the single-glazed window was covered in condensation each morning. I also didn’t find the carpeted floor very hygienic. Soundproofing is practically nonexistent, and our neighbors kept us up with noise until 1:30 AM. Next time I’ll look elsewhere first. Still, if I can’t find anything at a reasonable price, I might come back.

We were surrounded by beautiful nature, with a swimming lake right next to the accommodation. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time. The room worked perfectly for the two of us, especially for a short stay of less than a week.

The bathroom is small, sure, and the towel could be bigger. That’s about the only minor drawback I can mention. I’m a dwarf, so I’ll manage with the towel. For €36, I don’t understand some of the complaints about expecting luxury for €30. My room, number 11, was very clean and had everything I could need, plus a bit more. I’ve traveled all over France and rarely get such good service at this price. The Madame who welcomed me today was exceptionally kind, helpful, and always smiling. I’m really grateful for her hospitality and glad our paths crossed. This little corner of paradise was a lovely discovery. I felt I had to share my own experience after reading some reviews. To the simple, genuine people here, trust your instincts and don’t be put off by frustrated reviewers who might complain about the ceiling color if they looked up.
