Le Beau Cottage

We chose Beau Cottage for one night and found it quiet and very clean. The room was practical, with a microwave, refrigerator, and dishes. The self check-in details were clear, and the location across the street worked perfectly for our hot air balloon flight, which took off at 5:00 AM. It was excellent value, even in high season, and we’d recommend it.

The view was the only good thing about this place. Parking nearby was impossible, and the walls were so thin that it felt like living with the neighbors. The room was spacious, but the bed was extremely soft. Its single-pane window was broken, and the curtains were faded. In the tiny bathroom, there were traces of mold and the cleanliness seemed questionable. The plastic shower block was in the middle of the room, and we couldn’t fit inside it at 95 kg. The towels were the size of hand towels. The arrival was a poor start too. Nobody greeted us, and we had to follow escape-room-style instructions involving envelopes, a safe, and codes, even though we could hear someone behind the entrance curtain. The decor was absurd, with a Christmas tree in August and faded artificial flowers everywhere. The on-site restaurant was just an extra charge for items from a vending machine: bags of instant microwave rice, cans of corn or tuna, and vacuum-packed chocolate croissants. Honestly, €70.70 for one night here is highway robbery. I’d absolutely avoid it.

The bedding was very comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the room was a good size. We got a friendly welcome and found everything clean. The bathroom is small and laid out in a surprising way, but it does the job. Having read the reviews, we weren’t expecting luxury for the price, so we were pleasantly surprised.

The room was spotless, just right for a stopover, and we woke up to a lovely view of the lake. The welcome was pleasant, and the staff were really friendly.
