Terres de France - Domaine des Vans

We made the booking from a distance, and the price was €90 for two. We were told the double room would be separate, but it was actually one open-plan space. There was dust and there were cobwebs, and the pool shuts at 7:00 PM. Such a shame.

We had a pleasant few nights in this charming little village, and the price was very reasonable. The apartment had enough equipment, though some things are getting old, including a broken shower door. Being near the main road meant traffic could be heard outside or with the windows open. I’d recommend it for a short stay.

The setting is fairly peaceful, and we enjoyed hearing the cicadas, but the play area opposite our cottage and terrace has been dismantled. Its photo is still in the listing. The view is now unpleasant, and the site feels dangerous, with holes exposing large metal pieces and bits of the structure strewn on the ground. It needs serious renovation and cleaning. When we arrived at Domaine des Vans, the cottage was disappointingly dirty: dozens of cobwebs, floor stains, dusty furniture and dishes. The place is aging and only has the bare essentials. Although basic supplies like salt, pepper, and oil were advertised, none were there. There was a dishwasher but no tablets, and no cleaning products. We paid extra for bed linen and towels, which were very basic. The pool itself is quite nice, but it has no chairs or sun loungers. The ground was wet, so relaxing with a towel wasn’t ideal. The electric fence around the horse by the pool is inadequate. For what we paid, the value was disappointing, and I don’t think the three-star rating is justified.

We spent 10 unforgettable days in this quiet residence, surrounded by greenery, with access to the swimming pool on site. The manager gave us an exceptional welcome. Les Vans is just a stone’s throw away, and I highly recommend staying here.
