Chalet Valhalla in Chamonix-mont-blanc

We had a lovely stay at Chalet Valhalla. The shared spaces are large and comfortable, and the chalet has good facilities, though the main en-suite bedrooms felt a little small. Its location is ideal for town, with shopping just a five-minute walk away. The food was excellent. Chef Whitney served a delicious range of dishes each evening, and Locky and Becky were always available and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Even so, I probably wouldn’t return to Chalet Valhalla. For the price, it didn’t feel quite as luxurious as I expected based on what I’ve experienced at other chalets. We still had a lovely time.

We spent nearly a month at Chalet Valhalla last summer, through July and August, with numbers ranging from three of us to almost twenty. It was tremendous, and all our visiting friends thought the place was fantastic. We made memories we’ll always keep. We know Chamonix very well, and the location is about as good as it gets: close to town but quiet and tucked away. The team looked after us extremely well, and any issue was sorted immediately. We came over from Australia as a group of 12 athletes for a trail running tour, and this well located chalet made a comfortable, convenient base. It’s only a five-minute walk from town. Every bedroom had its own bathroom, and the kitchen was large enough to prepare meals for a big group. Having laundry, the spa, sauna and Wi-Fi available was a welcome bonus.

The reservation and verification were handled smoothly, and the flexible check-in and on-site help with transport and activities were all at the level I’d expect from a luxury hotel. It’s a well organized, high-quality family business, and the attention to detail shows. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back. Plenty.
