It was warm, and the beds were really comfortable. For the price, it’s a good hostel. The bathrooms often ran out of soap, and the towels they provided were tiny. Breakfast tasted nice, though it felt a little expensive. I wouldn’t rule out staying again, but I’d look at other places first.

The manager was so friendly that he gave us a private room when we’d booked bunks, since he had spare rooms. You can make tea or coffee, get hot water, and use the microwave any time. The place isn’t the latest and greatest, but it works well as a budget option. Breakfast costs an extra €10, which seemed steep.

The place is well located and good value, and the rooms were clean. When we checked out, they said the €220 already blocked on our card was only a hold, so we paid another €220. Both payments ended up being charged. We called the owner on 03.01.22, and he asked us to ring again at 12:00 the next day. On 04.01.22 he said he was busy and would call back, but he didn’t. We tried twice more that day and emailed, then waited to see if the mistaken charge would be returned. It was refunded, as of 11.10.22, so I’m giving four stars for the good value.

The rooms were clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a tidy hostel with private rooms, just outside Chamonix. Free public transport is close by, or you can walk 10-15 minutes to the town’s attractions.
