Hôtel Les Aiglons Chamonix

The pool looks out at Mont Blanc, which is amazing. It’s a beautiful, cozy, neat place with a lovely atmosphere in the Alps. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and you can use the sauna or steam room. Towels are available in the pool and spa area. The hostesses were so nice, especially Marion. She was knowledgeable, kind, and really sweet to talk to. I recommend the place, and want to give Marion a special thanks.

Getting around is easy, with Chamonix Sud bus stop close by and excellent access to the Aiguille du Midi tram. The main pedestrian street with the best shops and restaurants is several blocks away, though there are a few places to eat nearby. Staff were friendly, but cleaning the common areas during busy guest traffic felt odd. The rooms are small for a hotel of this size. Mine had a tub that was hard to climb into, but hot water came almost instantly, and the towels were plush with a bathroom towel heater. The lobby fireplace and bar area were nice, though the bar had only three beers. There’s also a ski room with individual lockers and boot dryers that didn’t work, plus a nice attached restaurant. The hot tub and heated pool were only warm at best, while the sauna worked great.

I stayed at Hôtel Les Aiglons in Chamonix this January and had a great experience. The location beside the bus station made it easy to get to Geneva Airport and nearby ski resorts. Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout. Paul at reception patiently answered all my questions about the facilities and ski resorts with a smile, and Annaelle was wonderfully welcoming. I visit Chamonix often, and this will be my first choice next time. Highly recommended!

At 400 euros a night, I expected a more premium stay. The location is convenient, a few minutes' walk from the center, near the bus station, and parking is excellent. Most staff are friendly, though they seem under pressure and service can get abrupt. Guests being ushered out of breakfast right at 10am was a bit much. The lobby has been refreshed, and reception, bar, and restaurant areas are acceptable, but the rooms need a complete overhaul. Mine felt like a 20-year-old Novotel, with scruffy walls, a dingy toilet, and a mini bathtub shower with no handles for anyone less agile. The tin chair was worn, cabinet doors were loose and wouldn't close, and the rotary dial phone left me wondering if it was meant to be retro-chic or the phone system simply hadn't been updated. I did have a balcony with a Mont Blanc view, but the room wasn't somewhere I wanted to spend time.
