A clean, quiet hostel with a very friendly host. The kitchen was really nice too.

The owner was kind and supportive throughout my stay. The place was clean and quiet, with a lovely view behind the hostel. There’s a grocery store just two minutes away. I’d be happy to visit again.
The atmosphere was friendly, and I met several other travelers during my stay at Alpenrose hostel. The owners are very kind, and my room had lockers. Everything was well organized and clean, including the kitchen. There’s a terrace too. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
There is a kitchen, which was the main plus for me, but otherwise this is a very basic hostel. There’s no breakfast or towels, and the dorm is a large room with 20 beds. It’s about 2 km from central Chamonix, a 30-minute walk in ski boots. There is a nearby bus stop, though the bus only comes once an hour. I’d suggest staying somewhere else.
This is a cozy, quiet, affordable basic hostel for visiting Chamonix, with amazing views of Mont Blanc and the Bossons Glacier. It’s a good half-hour walk into town, but the route along the Arve river is pleasant. My room had six bunk beds, though only three of us were staying there. Everything was very clean, and the rooms were warm. Breakfast starting at 10:00am was my only disappointment, since I’d woken up expecting to eat. There’s a supermarket and boulangerie just five minutes down the road, though. I’m so glad I stayed here, and only wish I’d booked more time.
