Park Hotel Suisse & Spa

We arrived a little early on check-in day, and they looked after our luggage while we walked around town. Our family suite worked perfectly for the four of us: a king bed area, a separate bunk-bed area for the kids, a separate toilet room, and a large bathroom with a bathtub. It was spacious and comfortable. The rooftop spa had a couple of saunas, a heated pool, and a jacuzzi, with lovely views of the city and Alps. The hotel has a beautiful rustic, comfy feel and an amazing location, opposite the St. Bernard of Mont Blanc Church and Tourism Center, just around the corner from downtown. We’d stay again.

The rooms and bathrooms are a good size, and the location is great. The gym wasn’t functional, the jacuzzi tubs weren’t hot enough and I actually got cold sitting in them. The restaurant also needs a full menu, since it only had fondue.

We enjoyed our stay, and the lobby is cosy with comfortable seats. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful at both check-in and check-out. They even contacted one of the ski mountains when someone in our party lost a watch there, and the mountain eventually found it and got in touch with the hotel. The spa staff kept things clean and promptly heated a sauna when we said it wasn’t warm enough. Ski lockers were provided. Breakfast was enjoyable, if nothing special. The hotel is just behind a busy street full of shops and places to eat. The walls are a bit thin, so we could hear the neighbours, but otherwise it was a 10/10 stay.

The room was very dirty, well below an acceptable standard. Housekeeping even left a rug and cleaning tools in the toilet. The gypsum board walls offer no sound insulation, so I could hear every word from other rooms and had almost no privacy. Resting was nearly impossible. Reception were dismissive when I raised these issues, saying they couldn’t do anything, with a bad attitude and no attempt to help or apologize. This hotel doesn’t deserve its rating, and at best I’d call it two stars. If you want a peaceful, clean, comfortable stay, avoid it. If you want your vacation ruined, this place will do that perfectly.
