The four apartments on our floor could fit 15 people, but only three of them were available when our group of 17 arrived. The owner acknowledged the booking mistake and offered a refund; luckily, two people had already cancelled. The apartments were nicely furnished, and the largest had a long table where everyone could sit and eat together. They gave us enough room for the 15 who stayed. Each apartment has its own ski locker on the ground floor. The gym and spa are across the street in one shared room. There are only four or five basic, old fitness machines, plus a sauna, steam cabin, and hot tub. These facilities are shared with other renters and need to be booked in the morning. There were no changing rooms, which was a shame. The bread delivery is handy, though the boulangerie is also close by. Wi-Fi was pretty useless during the day when everyone was online; it only worked for us early in the morning or late at night.
The team there is really nice.
Super, super, super!
We really enjoyed our family stay in the Le Loir apartment at Chalets du Bouquetin. At 75 m², it has two bedrooms and is laid out well for six people. There’s plenty of room, and the three bathrooms give everyone some privacy. The kitchen is very well equipped with Miele appliances, though the dishwasher broke on the first day. The Epeda bedding was excellent and we slept well. There’s also a washer and dryer. Arriving to beds that were already made was a treat, and linens were provided. We could have changed towels on Wednesday morning, but didn’t need to. The chalet is in the heart of the old village, just steps from the shops. A free shuttle runs all day to the gondola, making it easy to reach the Paradiski area. We used the ski lockers at the gondola base and walked there in a few minutes, about 500m, which made a nice warm-up. The private Wi-Fi wasn’t great. We left the car in the central covered parking lot for 80 euros per week. There’s no parking right by the residence, which seems common at ski resorts. Yvette, 88 years old, welcomed us. She owns the various apartments with her partner Bernard and is very friendly, though it can take a little perseverance to understand each other at first. It’s wonderful that she’s doing all this at 88. Staying active and having projects must be one of the keys to longevity!
We had a functional apartment for our group trip, with ski storage and free parking 100m away. The furnishings are a little dated, but the kitchen has everything we needed. From the 3rd floor you can see the mountains, and some rooms have a fireplace.
