Village de gîtes de Chanac

The pool was a real help in the heat, and Chanac is a great base for seeing the stunning region. We spent two weeks at the holiday village and had a wonderful time. It was quiet and fairly well maintained, and the cottages, though a little rustic, were pleasant and kept in good shape. The woman at reception was especially friendly and gave us great advice. You could tell she loves the area.

We still had a lovely, peaceful weekend, and the staff were understanding about the problem with our booking. The location itself is lovely too. The cottage was disappointing in a few practical ways, though: there were no basic hygiene supplies, and we hadn't been told in advance, so there wasn't even an extra toilet roll for our arrival. Only one of the four electric hobs worked properly, and cooking took a long time. There also wasn't anything to clean the fireplace with so we could leave it as we'd found it.

There are a few trail running routes that start right at the cottages, and the heated pool is a nice bonus included in the stay. Chanac is a pretty little village, with a few markets and activities. Finding somewhere to eat isn't easy: there are only pizzas and one inn with a set menu. This was my first time at the holiday village. The cottages are old, but very clean and functional.

The cottages are right by the start of hiking and trail running routes, and there's a big play area down below with a pump track, football pitch, and more. We got a really warm welcome. My children and I had a wonderful holiday.
