Mercure Vienne Sud Chanas

Better stay away from this hotel. I spent three nights there and nobody even came to clean my room. The woman at reception was arrogant and didn't know how to speak to people. I'm a manager at a company, and I had booked seven rooms for my employees. I cancelled all of them. I suggest Golf et brasserie de St-Clair instead, which is 100 times better.

We were a group of 24 cyclists touring France, and the staff made us feel very welcome. They were friendly and helpful throughout. Our rooms were excellent, clean, and spacious, with lots of counter space. Dinner and the service were excellent, and breakfast had a wide choice, including fresh, delicious cooked items. A really nice stay.

We chose the hotel because it was near the motorway, and staff were very friendly and efficient. The car park could be locked, which was reassuring since the area didn't look safe. Breakfast was good value, but I didn't feel the room and stay quality matched the price. The room looked tired, and the mattress probably needs replacing.

The rooms were in such poor condition that the hotel urgently needs to review its cleaning and refurbish them. One colleague found bed bugs in his room. There were damp stains on the wall, and the room had a strange smell. After four nights, the soles of my slippers were black, even though I spent little time in the room because I was working long days. A used tissue stayed under the bed the whole time. I'd avoid this place at all costs.
