Hotel Dali Val d'Europe, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Hotel Dali was comfortable and very clean, and the location was convenient. Still, the stay felt fairly standard and met the basics without going further. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable, and a warmer welcome from the reception team would have made a better first impression. It was a good stay, but nothing extra made it stand out.

We paid a lot for a “suite,” including €50 a night in tax, and the room was basic and in a disgusting state. There were stained carpets, dead spiders on the floor, and cobwebs everywhere. For a Hilton, I was really disappointed after four nights. Our flight wasn’t until late Friday, so we asked to extend the stay. First we were told we could keep the room, then staff told us something completely different. Communication was poor, and the walls are so thin you can hear people talking down the hall. I wouldn’t recommend it or stay again.

The Hilton website said this hotel was 14 miles from the airport, but I say the real distance is 24 miles. When I tried to cancel because of that information, the hotel refused to refund me. Anna, the woman I dealt with, was rude and unfriendly. She also told me, “THE GM DOES NOT SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS,” which seems unbelievable for a Hilton-branded hotel. When Hilton Guest Services contacted the property for me, Sofie, the Front Office Manager, pretended to be the General Manager. That’s dishonest and unacceptable. Anna and Sofie were dismissive and unhelpful, with no understanding of basic customer service. The attitude at the hotel was unfriendly, evasive, and unprofessional, and doesn’t match Hilton standards. I’d strongly advise avoiding it if you expect accurate information, accountability, or staff who will work to solve a problem. In reply to the so-called “GM,” who wouldn’t provide their full name and seemed to be avoiding accountability, I have photos of the misleading information on the hotel’s own site and a Google Maps screenshot. The hotel listing says 14 miles from the airport, but the distance shown is 33 km, or 21 miles. I consider that misrepresentation. A hotel with basic ethics and service standards would acknowledge it and refund a guest who asked transparently and reasonably. I even begged. Hotels make exceptions to policy when they value customers, and this refusal says a lot about the service standards here. And by the way, I NEVER spoke to Sophie. She refused to speak with me, so the review you supposedly conducted is flawed and another dishonest claim. I rest my case.

The room was freezing, and the wall thermostat didn’t work. Even set to 26 degrees, the temperature never got above 19. The first attendant who checked us in was very helpful, but things went downhill after that. I noticed the heating problem when we got back from dinner and called the front desk. The new attendant said he’d fix it, but in the middle of the night we all woke up shivering and cold. I called again, and by morning, before breakfast, nothing had changed. The hallway was warmer than our room. When I mentioned it at checkout, the attendant just said, “sorry to hear that.” Breakfast was the worst of the three hotels we stayed at on our trip. The juice was watered down, and there was nowhere near the selection we had at the Moxy down the street. Moxy is also easier to reach by public transport. Do yourself a favor and stay there instead.
