That peaceful view from the château terrace, with a glass from Jean Paul’s wine selection, is something we’ll remember for a long time. We spent four nights with our extended family of nine in late July and early August 2022, and our hosts, Marine and Jean-Paul, were thoughtful and helpful throughout. The château is beautifully renovated and well equipped. Our rooms were spacious, with new bathrooms, and we all enjoyed the quality of the food and service at breakfast and dinner. The kids had a great time with the pool, billiards, and table tennis, along with the two cats and the dog. The location worked well for visiting most of the Loire châteaux within an hour’s drive, and beautiful Loches is very close. We ran out of time to see everything the region has to offer. Whether you're staying a couple of nights or longer, Chateau de Charnizay is an easy choice.

The views are lovely, and the service felt friendly and genuine. They’ve kept the old-world charm while adding modern bathrooms and comforts. We loved everything about the place.

Marine was attentive and very helpful, adapting easily to what we needed for our family reunion. It’s a magnificent place, and we could use several different areas for drinks, meals, and breakfast.

We had a wonderful three-night stay in one of the ecolodges in the Château grounds. It was thoughtfully designed and very comfortable for us and our two children, aged four and seven. We enjoyed the pool, and our hosts served breakfast and dinner in the Château. It’s a great family-friendly base for discovering Touraine. We explored the surrounding area, including the Haute Touche nature reserve. The place is a refreshing change of scene, well cared for, and run by very welcoming hosts. We definitely recommend it.

Breakfast could use some savory options alongside the sweet ones. Apart from that, everything felt peaceful and restorative: the pool was delightful, and the food was healthy, with seasonal vegetables. It’s a lovely place to stay in a beautifully renovated château, thoughtfully run by charming owners.
