Hôtel Le Boeuf Couronné

The bathroom was tiny, the smallest I've ever seen. And if you're staying more than two nights, the menu is very limited.

It's clean and pleasant, and the staff are lovely. The room is small, with a very petite bathroom, but there's a lift that fits one person and a reasonable-sized suitcase. The location and view are wonderful. What shocked me was how little soundproofing there is. I can hear every detail of conversations in the neighboring rooms, hallway noise, and even the "little death" that happened in the room below. Be careful what you say, your neighbors can hear you.

My room had a spectacular view of the cathedral, and the hotel is charming, comfortable, and centrally located in Chartres. The restaurant is very good, with a comfortable, well-stocked bar too. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, and staff throughout the hotel were always friendly and helpful. There's secure parking, but spaces are limited, so I'd book ahead if you're arriving by car. Public parking in Chartres is expensive for both short and long stays.

We had a very pleasant stay, and the hotel felt like great value. The rooms were clean and comfortable; some have a breathtaking view of the Cathedral of Chartres, just a short walk away. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with lots of different choices. The lunch menu looked superb and gourmet. Staff were friendly and helpful, the WIFI signal was strong, and the front doors are locked at night, which made the hotel feel secure. My only wish was for A/C, though I expect the price would be higher if it had it. A very nice place for a weekend.
