The welcome was awful, and the whole visit was a letdown. We had booked three days, but after a string of unpleasant surprises and the staff's behavior, my family decided to leave early. The managers kept watching everything we did, which made us very uncomfortable, and spoke rudely, sometimes offensively. They also enforced pointless rules, though we followed them. Even electricity for the “comfort” pitch had to be paid in cash. I strongly advise against this campsite.

The facilities were spotless, and there's a safe play area with a netted trampoline, plus bikes and child seats you can borrow. The river is beautiful and easy to reach for paddling. Around the site, careful tree management has created both sunny and shady pitches, with tables, chairs, and hammocks. The owners are welcoming, friendly, and very mindful of the environment. The restaurant and bar are reasonably priced, with a different meal each evening and pizzas on weekends. We had steak and chips, and the charcuterie and cheese served one night looked amazing. A little haven of peace, and one of the best sites we've stayed at. Well worth a detour, highly recommended.

The board game corner was a nice touch, and the toilets and showers were very clean. Katia and Bruno are such friendly owners, ready to help with just about anything. They cook every evening, with great pizzas and steak and fries served on the terrace. It's a great campsite right beside a beautiful river, and a lovely place to camp with such friendly people.

We really appreciated how patient Katia and Bruno were with our limited French. They slowed down and took time to find words we understood. When we needed to buy something specific, they even called nearby stores to check if it was in stock. Bruno asked how I'd slept, and when I said it had been a bit cold, Katia offered a blanket for the next night. The food is very good, the service is great, and they do their best to help with whatever you need and make your stay pleasant. Camping du Pont de Braye is an eco camping, but that doesn't mean an uncomfortable or strict stay. Simple measures help save a lot of water and reduce waste, and we came away with new ideas for lowering our footprint on holiday. Water pressure can sometimes be low, and nights can get a bit cold at this altitude. Those are the only downsides, and they aren't deal breakers. We really recommend staying a few nights if you get the chance. If you're choosing between campsites, this is the one.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were good. It's in a beautiful spot, and I'd definitely come back.
