The place looked like it may once have been nice, but it was very dirty when we arrived. We needed a room at short notice, so we called ahead. The eccentric gentleman who greeted us asked for a moment to get the room ready, then left us alone in an otherwise empty reception and restaurant. When he came back, my wife politely asked if we could see the room first, which seemed entirely reasonable. He immediately threw us out. I’d stay far away.

The rooms and other spaces were shown to us at the end of our stay, which we really enjoyed. Jean Michel was warm and cheerful, and clearly knew a lot about the area. We arrived in the evening after a long, beautiful drive through the Morvan, and he welcomed us and showed us our room. We ate a delicious meal at the restaurant around the corner. When we came back and asked for another drink, he initially said it was late and the restaurant was already closed. After a short chat, though, he invited us to sit down and served us excellent wine and a tasty charcuterie plate. A lovely stay, with hospitality at its best!

I arrived feeling ill and hoarse, and Jean Michel quickly made me an incredible, filling meal. He's absolutely lovely. The room was clean and practical, and the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it!
