Ibis Budget Ambérieu-En-Bugey Château-Gaillard

After a thunderstorm, the bed lights in one of our rooms started flashing through the night. The receptionist suggested putting a cushion in front of them, rather than moving us to another room. It turned into a lousy, unplanned disco night. We were only stopping for one night on the way to the South of France. Booking and check-in were fine, but in the morning we were told to send our complaint and request for a partial refund to a general ibis email address. Three weeks later, there was still no reply. That one star feels too generous.

You can get everywhere easily, and the reception staff are really nice 😊

The room felt a bit cold because wind came in through the window, even though it was fully closed. There also aren't any restaurants around the hotel. The staff were nice, and breakfast was good.

The shower being inside the room felt really strange. I thought everything else was good, and it seems fine for one person or a couple, but for others... hmm.
