Nicolas made it easy to get to know the area, and his enthusiasm for its wine really came through. He explained the village's history, the ruined castle, how winemaking took hold, the grape varieties and blends behind Chateauneuf-Du-Pape wine, and the local terroir. That context made our meals, tastings, and wine buying much more fun, even as amateur wine lovers. He also knows many businesses nearby, which helped us get last-minute bookings, occasional tasting discounts, and a warm welcome in town. He gave us privacy in the separate house and garden, but was quick to suggest options whenever we needed something, even arranging tours and tastings at short notice. The house has plenty of room, a well-equipped kitchen, effective air conditioning, and a lovely garden. It's about a 10-minute walk to the village shops, restaurants, and wineries, so no driving is needed for tastings. For the price, it had everything we needed, and Nicolas's hospitality was the standout.
