The campsite was nice, though rather isolated. The pool is a long way down a slope, so it was refreshing in the 35° heat, but climbing back up left us very hot. The facilities were fine, but in the shower and at the washing-up sinks, you had to run a lot of water before it got warm.

The staff were super friendly, and there are free activities like mini golf and other games. You can also order bread for breakfast the next day, and it was a very cheap stay. I’d like to give this place five stars, but a few things need work. The campsite ground where we stayed was riddled with sinkholes. The pool was good and the water very hot, though no one was supervising it. Some people dived in hard and splashed those lying nearby. One day a group of teenagers, who didn’t seem to be staying there, were playing ball and hit people and a baby with it several times. The bathrooms should be cleaned more often, and the laundry and dishwashing sinks weren’t separated well. The water came out with so much force that we got soaked. Even so, I’d highly recommend the park.

A peaceful little campsite with a lovely view from the bar over the Gartempe River and the swimming pool. The bar is open from 5pm Thursday through Sunday, and closes Monday to Wednesday in low season. There’s a supermarchè nearby, plus a great boulongerie in the village. Only one restaurant is still open, as the others have closed. We’ll definitely return.

The wellness room is superb and a bargain, so give it a try. The campsite is well run, with good, level pitches and spotless separate men’s and women’s toilets and showers. There’s a restaurant and bar on site, and the village is walkable, though the hill may be steep for some. It’s a great base for exploring the region, and the prices are great too.

After cycling more than 2300km through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France on my way to Santiago de Compostela, this is the nicest campsite I’ve found so far. It’s clean, the people are friendly, the pool is great, and the prices are good. I also enjoyed the little Creperie. Highly recommend it!
