Maison Cimarron is tucked among the villages in the gorgeous mountains of the National Parc des Écrins. The grounds are beautiful and the hosts are amazing. We only stayed for a weekend, but hope to come back for an outdoor adventure.

I’ve been here twice with our school, and I still want to go back. We slept in a large, open room with all the other children from our school. The teachers and other guests slept in separate rooms, completely soundproofed from the big room.

It’s a professional Dutch organization with a varied layout and a well-rounded program. You can have a great time even if you’re inexperienced, though you do need to enjoy a challenge.

We kept pushing our limits throughout the week. Cimarron is a great company, with friendly instructors and interns. I’d definitely recommend an active holiday here :)

I’ve come back for two years in a row and plan to keep returning for many more. It’s a fantastic mountaineering holiday organization, with skilled, helpful instructors and lots of possibilities.
