Le Roitelet

I spent a week here on a ski trip, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful about the local area. They pointed out useful information about ski facilities around Châtel. The room was cosy and warm, just what I needed for the trip. Breakfast was light and refreshing, with a good choice of things.

Room 3 was small but just right for a solo traveller, very clean, and had everything I needed. The huge balcony had an amazing view. I got a warm, friendly welcome, and the owner was fantastic. The ski room is spacious, with a heated boot rack. Breakfast was delicious and had all the expected choices; it costs extra, but is worth it. Wi-Fi was pretty slow, though that's standard in the mountains in my experience. It's about an eight-minute walk, slightly uphill, into town. The No4 bus stops right outside in both directions and goes to central Chatel. There's lots of parking, though I didn't travel by car. A perfect place for a short stay in Chatel. Room 5, location 5, cleanliness 5.

Absolutely brilliant. We stayed here with our family for half the price of the posh, overpriced places further up the hill, and this was better than any of them. xxxx

The rooms are on the small side, but they have what you need for a night or two, or even longer. The staff are friendly, and it’s a great stop if you’re near Montreux in Switzerland. I told a friend about it and he stayed in July 2023. He was just as happy with everything.
