La Croix Blanche de Sologne Hotel

The food was lovely, though there weren't many vegetarian or kids' choices. We had spacious rooms with luxurious marble, but the finish felt haphazard and sloppy, which made the modern interiors sit awkwardly with the almost ancient exterior. It’s a beautiful old hotel and restaurant in a picturesque village just below Orleans, and not far from the highway. There’s a small courtyard pool and a lovely, almost medieval dining room. Maybe we caught the servers on an off day, but they seemed like they needed a day off. Water arrived late and coffee even later. With two tired kids after a long day’s drive, that really wasn’t ideal.

The Director of Service and his staff made us feel welcome and comfortable, and they spoke several languages fluently. My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for our anniversary and had dinner at the restaurant. The atmosphere was romantic and welcoming, and the food was exquisite and full of flavor. I was so impressed by the plating that I took a couple of pictures for Instagram. It’s a sweet memory I’ll never forget. I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant, and can’t wait to return soon.

I visited the restaurant twice, though I didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was excellent, and the service was prompt and courteous. We sat outside looking over the pool, which was very pleasant, and the indoor dining area looked lovely too. Oddly, it seems to be a closely guarded secret on Google, despite being popular with local trade and centre parc's. I’d recommend it for an authentic local meal.

We found this restaurant after leaving the nearby center parcs to have dinner, and what a discovery. The locally sourced beef was as good as anywhere, and the food was fabulous, among the best we’ve had on our many trips to France. The waiter was helpful with both the menu and wine list. Highly recommended.
