Camping La Digue

The shop has what you need, including fresh bread, and the facilities are very clean. Still, you can hear everything other people are doing in there, so maybe a radio would help. I also couldn't find a light switch for the evening, and the lack of lighting was a problem. The unisex setup felt a bit odd, especially with the urinals. One shower only ran for three seconds after pressing the button, and although the washing machines worked, there was no dryer. Some places also lacked information in English. The welcome was immediate and the campsite itself looked lovely. Our pitch was a good size, and the area around it was attractive.

We took a kayaking trip that finished right at the campsite, which was really convenient, and used the site as a base for lovely day trips to nearby sights. It’s a small, intimate place but has what you need. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the facilities were very clean. The pool was just the right size, and our son loved spending time there. It’s a fantastic, relaxed little campsite.

The campsite is about 150 metres from the Ardèche, and there are lots of families staying there. They arrange kayak trips from the site for ages seven and up. There’s also a large supermarket in Ruoms, about 15 minutes away, while the campsite has a small shop and a decent restaurant. There are plenty of shady pitches, and the pool has a deep section as well as a shallow one for small children. The staff were friendly, the toilets stayed clean, and the showers were very warm. It was quieter than usual this year, which suited us, though I imagine it was harder for the owners.

There are plenty of trees for shade, and the little camping shop is decent, with fair prices and fresh bread every morning. The pool is on the small side and can get crowded, and there isn't much shade around it. The campsite has a nice lively feel, and the staff are very friendly.
