Chambres D'hotes Beaupel

I'm posting this a little late because I had surgery. We were very well looked after and will come back in November if a room is available. The setting and the people were idyllic, and the owners were friendly, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was full of local flavors, with farm butter, homemade jams and delicious brioche. The accommodation was perfect, with a warm family welcome. A big thank you to them. Highly recommended.

Our Belgian friends were delighted with their weekend, both with the welcome and the rooms. We booked two rooms for them. The only possible snag could have been the shared bathroom, which might have needed some coordination if every room had been occupied, but that wasn't the situation. They had a positive experience, and we'd highly recommend the accommodation.

The owner was cold and unpleasant. For the price, it also felt unreasonable to share the shower and toilet with guests in the other rooms. There was no ventilation, and the windows were either tiny or large but couldn't open fully. In the morning, the owner wasn't there if you left before breakfast. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

It was a nice, comfortable place. There was a big heatwave, though, so the upstairs rooms under the roof got quite hot. That was down to the sun, not the owner :)
