I only stayed one night, but it was a really good experience. The welcome was warm, everyone was extremely helpful, and the personal feel of this traditional family run hotel stood out. The room was very comfortable, and breakfast suited what we needed.

The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable we slept really well. Beauséjour is a charming hotel in Cherbourg, with friendly staff and a good breakfast made with quality local products. The coffee was perfect too. I’d happily recommend it to anyone stopping in Cherbourg.

The staff were friendly enough, but the hotel needs updating. I stayed here in 1995 and came back in 2017, and not much seemed to have changed apart from painting the rooms. The stairs still had the same carpet. The toilet is tiny, too. Sitting down, my knees touched the door. Knocking through the wall between the toilet and shower would give you more room.

It’s well situated and reasonably priced, and I’m happy with the place. The old style setup suits me, it’s quiet, and the en suite is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the owner/manager is a really sound guy.

Fine for a night or a weekend, but it could do with an update. I was here 22 years ago and it hasn’t changed much. The toilet is too small, and knocking down the wall between it and the bathroom would help, since it isn’t a supporting wall. The Wi-Fi is hit and miss and slow. It’d be useful if the TV had internet access so you could watch programs in your own language.
