The breakfasts were such a treat, with delicious things and lots of thoughtful touches. Bernard and Armelle were warm and welcoming, and their advice helped us make the most of a region with so much history and striking geography. The house has been restored with real taste and sits right in the middle of lovely Chilhac. I came away with very fond memories of a relaxing stay. We’d happily return to the other B&B.

We could easily have stayed a few more nights, maybe next time. Chilhac is beautiful and quiet, perched on its basalt columns, and I think I liked it even more than Lavoute-Chilhac. We enjoyed the walk through the gardens of the "Sisters' School" in the evening. The welcome was lovely, and our cozy room had comfortable bedding, a large shower, a minibar, and a stereo with a good selection of CDs. Breakfast was perfect.

A spacious room with a walk-in shower and a generous breakfast made for a great stay. Armelle and Bernard welcomed us so warmly. Their home in the charming little village of Chilhac reflects a long renovation, with the owners’ own taste woven in while keeping the building’s original character. A really nice place to stay.

The area makes you want to wander, with Romanesque art, picturesque little villages, geological curiosities, and swimming spots along the Allier River. Bernard is always happy to offer advice, including restaurant recommendations. Back at the house, Bernard and Armelle were charming and attentive, and both the place and the village felt peaceful. We loved the excellent breakfasts. We’ve only had a taste, so we’ll be back. Alain & Maryline

After an endurance cycling event, this was just the place to unwind. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was amazing, especially the homemade banana bread 😍. Thanks again!
