The service was fine, and the rooms were clean, though one had a musty smell. The fire alarm went off at 2:30 am and again at 8:30 am. After it sounded the second time, the air conditioning stopped working.

The day staff were great, friendly and helpful, and breakfast next door at the restaurant was plentiful and very good. The property itself badly needs an upgrade, though. The shower tray drained slowly and took ages to get warm, and the toilet bowl clearly hadn't been scrubbed in quite a while.

We found the staff friendly and quick to respond, and the location was very central, just steps from the town centre's shops and restaurants and less than a 10 minute walk from the train station. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, with different sizes and styles for groups. There was also a usable outdoor area and lobby where people could gather. We really liked this hotel.

Room 40 in the courtyard was spacious, clean, and decorated with real taste. The shower room was superb. We were made to feel very welcome, and the offer to hire an electric scooter caught our attention. We would have taken it up if our stay had been longer.

We booked at the last minute, and with more time to plan, I think we could have found better options. The hotel is clean and centrally located, but the rooms felt plain in person, despite looking nice in the photos. The Wi-Fi didn't work.
