La Petite Salamandre

Chitenay is delightful and makes a great base for exploring the Loire valley and nearby chateaux. The hosts, Serge and Audrey, are charming, and after their excellent breakfast we found the room very clean and modern, with a well-equipped en suite bathroom. A wonderful place to stay.

Audrey welcomed us so warmly. The generous breakfast featured homemade and local products. It's a very quiet spot, ideally placed for exploring the region. We highly recommend Audrey and will definitely return.

Audrey was so friendly and took time to tell us about the region, including the castles that are a must-see and some lovely walks. Our two nights at La Petite Salamandre were peaceful, and the garden was beautiful with its bright autumn colors. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with homemade products. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and would gladly return.

The rooms are spacious and modern, and despite being near a shopping center, the place is wonderfully quiet. We found La Petite Salamandre through a Wonderbox gift voucher and had no trouble adding an extra night at a very reasonable price. The accommodation worked well for someone with a mild disability and reduced mobility: you need to be able to use a small walker, but inside everything is arranged to support independence. Our host made us feel welcome, listened, and shared advice on lots of activities. Breakfast is optional, generous, and full of homemade products, which we really enjoyed. There's also a very good inn about a 20-minute walk away for meals. A peaceful, welcoming stay that we highly recommend.
