ibis budget Ciboure Saint Jean de Luz

The budget breakfast, which wasn't included, had flies everywhere. The scrambled eggs and sausages weren't very nice, and I counted 13 flies on the uncovered cheese.

A fairly standard ibis, though the budget and regular sections share the property. The room was clean, the views were nice, and the WiFi was really good. The bathroom has that typical space-age look, squeezed into a corner. The desk and bar are open 24 hours, and you can get ice there. Breakfast is served, though there are plenty of other options nearby. There's a second elevator on the 'budget' side, which seems to be rarely used while the main one gets very busy. The stairs are wide and easy to use, too. Our bed had a flat sheet over a plastic cover, which wasn't comfortable. The room's AC helped with the heat from the cover. ibis hotels aren't always quiet, and we could hear bumps through the walls and ceiling during the night.

The service was excellent. I was traveling alone with a large trailer, and the receptionist came to show me the best way in from the motorway, where I'd parked temporarily. He also stopped the traffic while I maneuvered into their large vehicle parking space. The hotel is clean and fresh. It's an easy walk over the harbour to the old town and beach, and I could even see the ocean from my room.

There was so little room that it was almost impossible to move around the bed. I couldn't fit in the shower with the door closed, and the basin was too narrow to brush my teeth over, with a mirror sticking out in front. Breakfast was poor. Not recommended 👎 Update: I spoke with the front desk and they arranged a bigger room for me in the non Budget section. All good now. Thanks to the ladies there and the big chief I met this morning 🙏
