A car problem at the start of our two-week holiday sent us looking for a rental car while ours went to a Citroen garage in Dijon. Long story short, this campsite was more or less the nearest one to the city. We booked on a whim, and what a lovely site and location, right on Lac du Clairvaux. The staff were very friendly, and the Eurocamp Rep was lovely and informative. We'd certainly come back. Thank you, Eurocamp 😊

The kids' entertainment staff were great with my youngest daughter, who has a learning disability. Sonia and Taly especially looked after her and helped her join in the children's show. Most of the snack bar and ice cream shack staff were lovely and helpful. The pools were fine, though not the cleanest, and one area had stagnant water that looked like it had been there a long time. Pool toilets were always gross and weren't cleaned often enough. WiFi was pretty rubbish, as seems standard at Yelloh! Village locations. Oddly, the ice cream place only opened from 5 pm. My daughter's shoes were stolen from the pool, where you have to take them off and leave them on shelves. We tried the restaurant on our last night. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, and one of the waiters was quite rude.

This seems best suited to families with kids. The pitches are green and shady, and I liked being close to the service buildings. There's a big swimming pool and a good convenience store. The bike routes around the lakes are beautiful, though steep, and the paths between Grand Lac and Petit Lac can get very muddy. The campsite rents bikes, but they were sold out when we visited, so bring your own or go into town to rent one. The toilets really let the place down: they're small, uncomfortable, not very clean and offer almost no privacy. That doesn't match four-star campsites elsewhere in Europe. The snack bar is okay, but you pay a lot for simple meals with plenty of fries. In my opinion, the stay is a bit expensive overall.

There's barely any information about the rental activities. To find out when or how to rent an MTB, paddleboard or canoe, you have to hope the place is open and ask the staff. They really need to put up information boards.
