Dan’s British accent helped me feel at ease as soon as I arrived, and the service was excellent. The former schoolhouse still has plenty of its original charm, from the books on the shelves to the wooden doors and staircase. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. I’m tall, so the exposed beams and attic space caught me by surprise, but the single bed was wide and had no footboard. Breakfast was generous and high quality, served French-style with croissant, baguette, butter, jam, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The price was very reasonable, and I highly recommend staying here. For fishing, Pontoir pond, which covers 3.5 hectares, is 2 minutes away; the Blavet river at Pontivy is 9 minutes away; and Lake Guerlédan is 15 minutes away.

The homemade breakfast came with excellent bread. The former school is in a peaceful setting, and the hosts are charming and discreet.
