Ace Hotel Clermont-Ferrand La Pardieu

For an affordable stop on a road trip, Kyriad is handy, right by the A75 on and off ramp so you don't lose time. The rooms have laminate floors, which I find much cleaner than carpet in hotels. After a long drive, the small pool is relaxing. There's a gym too, though we all know it's just there to collect dust. A five-minute drive away, E.Leclerc is more like a shopping mall, with everything you could want.

The pool indoors is quite small, but it was nice for a dip after a long drive. The room was very clean, though the toilet smelled a little. Easy to find, and the staff were polite.

We used to like staying here on the way to our holidays. This year, though, we got an email just two weeks before arriving to say the secure car park wouldn't be available, so we'd have to park elsewhere in a public space. How can that happen?

The staff were nice and the place looked very clean. There are several places to eat in the neighborhood, very close by. I couldn't give it five stars because, unlike other hotels in the same chain, this one has no restaurant inside.
