The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Le Lion, Clermont-Ferrand

The bar and restaurant were excellent, and the staff deserve five stars. The hotel is perfectly located. I’ll definitely come back and recommend it!

We planned on two nights, then stayed for three because both the city and hotel were so good we wanted more. Le Lion is a small hotel and auberge with a busy cafe/bistrot on the main plaza in the middle of Clermont-Ferrand. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were adequate, though not spacious. Even with all that activity outside, the sound-proofed windows and black-out curtains let us sleep quietly. There is an elevator, but you still have to manage half-flights of stairs to reach it, so it won’t suit people with mobility issues.

We had five great days at Le Lion in Clermont-Ferrand, and the team made the stay feel personal from the first greeting to the last goodbye. Max welcomed us with charm and professionalism. Jeanine and Valentine were always kind and cheerful, while Raphael, Ugo, and Marie were warm and attentive. Isuru, Sarah, and Nils also gave thoughtful service. Everyone was genuine and friendly, and made us feel like part of the Le Lion family. The hotel is stylish and comfortable, right in the centre. Our room was modern, clean, and quiet, a lovely place to come back to after exploring the city. The design balances comfort and sophistication. Food and service were superb, from breakfast dinners to late-night drinks, and there’s a cosy, happy energy throughout that becomes part of the experience. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, and really want to return. Thank you, Max, Jeanine, Valentine, Raphael, Ugo, Marie, Isuru, Sarah, and Nils. You made our stay special.

The restaurant was lively and the service spot on. The hotel is also in a perfect spot on a beautiful town square, and the price felt reasonable for what you get. Our room had everything we needed and was impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable, and I’d love to take the shower home with us. We loved our stay and would recommend it.
