The location is a real plus, just a short walk from the historic center and right by the Charente River. The room was clean, though I would have liked a TV. Breakfast was very basic, just baguette, jam and orange juice, with no yogurt. You can make coffee with the house machine, but there’s no espresso, and the jacuzzi was closed. What made the stay difficult was the dog, which was aggressive and could be dangerous. We had to call its owner before entering or leaving. The welcome at reception wasn’t warm either. It’s a shame, but I can’t recommend the place with that dog being such a problem.

The breakfast was good and served with a smile, and the stay was good value for money. The room was pleasant, though it could do with some updating. The new owner was very charming and welcoming.

Breakfast was just a baguette left on the table and a few yogurts in the fridge. For the price, that felt extremely meager. The new owner seemed uncomfortable, and the welcome was so brief it was over in two minutes. I was very disappointed and hadn't expected this when I booked. I wouldn't recommend it.

Free parking and only a five-minute walk over the bridge to the city center made the location ideal. The owners gave us a warm welcome, and there’s a cute dog too. A great restaurant and cocktail bar are nearby. We had an excellent stay at the Labreuvoir guesthouse and highly recommend it.

L'Abreuvoir worked perfectly for us while attending a wedding at Quai des Pontis, and it’s also well placed for exploring the city. We spent a lovely weekend there with our two babies. The welcome was warm and attentive, and we soon felt at home. We highly recommend this lovely place.
