We stopped here while cycling the Flax Cycle Route, and the food made it well worth it. My flank steak was unbelievably tender, with a great Roquefort sauce, and they were happy to replace the fries with cheesy pasta. It’s home-style cooking at a good price. There’s no printed menu: the chalkboards list three starters, four or five mains, and a similar choice of desserts. A proper village restaurant.

The package was there, and the staff handed it over after checking, but getting it was a really unpleasant experience. Nobody greeted me, and the men were aggressive and acted as if I were lying. They made a remark about people from Cany coming to cause trouble. I may be from Cany, but I pass by every day for work. I don’t understand this kind of reaction from a small village business. I won’t be back, and there are other managers who might be more helpful. Others have complained about the parcel pickup service too, so we’ll contact the delivery company. I may have made spelling mistakes, but business owners should know how to respect customers.

The owners even sorted out my parcel mix-up, which was my own fault: I’d left one package in a locker in the parking lot and the other in the shop. They helped spontaneously and were so kind about it. Thanks again. I’m looking forward to dropping parcels off again, and maybe having a coffee and a chat while I’m there. The long opening hours are handy, and every time I’ve come in for Vinted drop-offs I’ve had a lovely welcome, with smiles, politeness, and friendly service. I’m completely satisfied and would highly recommend this local shop. It’s rare to find a business like this these days. Hats off to you both!

After the owner’s reply, I need to set the record straight: I came in smiling and greeted them warmly. I wasn’t aggressive at any point. I asked about my package delivery to start a friendly conversation, nothing more. I did leave saying, “As for friendliness, forget it,” because the welcome was cold from start to finish. Calling that muttering doesn’t change what happened. The replies to negative reviews seem to involve criticizing customers, but customers are the ones rating the establishment. Best of luck. I’d only come to collect a package that had been sent there, and the welcome was cold and unpleasant. A pickup point can shape someone’s impression of a business, so it’s a shame. I don’t eat there, smoke, or come in for coffee, but that shouldn’t mean poorer service. More friendliness and a bit more customer care would help.
