There were flies and wasps all around the pool, so relaxing there was impossible. The towels smelled bad, and the air con was right above the bed, blowing down on you. It was loud as a tractor engine, too. She was friendly at breakfast, but ignored us at other times, so I didn’t feel welcome. One afternoon she had a group of friends or relatives hanging around the pool, which made me very uncomfortable. Breakfast was fine, but not worth all the glowing compliments. There was no fruit while we were there, the croissant was disappointing, and the coffee was average. Most French reviews are very complimentary, while the negative ones seem to come from non-French guests like us. I don’t know exactly why. Maybe she couldn’t help when we asked about the area because she doesn’t speak English. I never met her husband. The place is a good 10-minute walk from the centre, then there’s a very steep incline from the street entrance. I definitely wouldn’t return.
