Novotel Suites Colmar Centre

What we got was more than I expected for what we paid, and I’d happily stay there again. The staff were attentive from the moment we arrived, making us feel very comfortable. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Congratulations!

They had complimentary espresso and tea in the room, which was a nice extra. The shower felt like a refreshing spa, and the bed had two pillows. At Hotel Novotel, the room was brand new and modern, with modern furnishings and all the amenities. Everything was perfect.

We had an amazing stay. It’s expensive, but well worth it, with a kids’ area and amazing service. They even helped us with a taxi, for example. Breakfast was good, though I missed having fresh fruit and a wider selection. The breads, cheese and croissants were fine, but a few more healthy options would probably go down well.

The room was spacious and the location was very good, but a huge spider on the curtain on the second-to-last day was the last straw. Cleanliness was an issue too, since there was mold on the bathroom sink. The breakfast area is small, and on the weekend we waited as long as 30 minutes for a table. The room was freezing, even with the thermostat turned all the way up. We were travelling with a baby, but the staff didn’t take action. After our first night, when we were literally freezing, I reported it. A receptionist said they’d move us if the technician couldn’t fix the heating, though I don’t think anyone ever came to check it. Later that afternoon another receptionist said a room change wasn’t possible and offered a portable heater instead. For the considerable price of a so-called prestigious four-star hotel, a radiator felt like a poor solution. We travel often and have never stayed in a colder room. Most of reception seemed to know about the problem, but nobody checked back with us afterwards. They just smiled as if nothing had happened.
