Moxy Lyon Airport

Sol’s service was perfect. When we complained about the food, she promptly sent it back to the kitchen to be fixed. The food was reasonable and the breakfast buffet was good. It’s a nice hotel for a short stay around a flight. The room was far too hot, though. A technician checked and reset the thermostat, then the waitress mentioned the aircon wasn’t working. It was around 19 degrees during the night and still too hot for us to sleep well. When we raised it at reception during checkout, they gave us the usual blasé French response and ignored the problem. Three stars for the room, four for the service.

The restaurant was a disaster. Children were served raw chicken, and this wasn’t the first time, as I’d already spoken to the waiters. I complained about raw chicken being served to people at two tables, including mine and the child next to me. The manager was unbelievably rude and denied it. I asked him to speak to the kitchen because I could see he hadn’t gone there after my complaint. He said he had told the kitchen and, if I didn’t believe him, I could go check. I’m sorry, what? He’s apparently meant to manage the kitchen, but there’s clearly a big misunderstanding here. The pizza and wine are okay, but be careful with the meat, especially chicken nuggets and similar things.

So fun and nicely themed, with really good quality, excellent showers, and nice amenities. The lounge had green lime tea, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Just a really nice, fun experience at an amazing hotel.

The room was nicely arranged and had a vintage land phone, but the lighting wasn’t enough. It was good for sleeping. Breakfast was the usual European selection, and reception staff were helpful and able to manage English. The hotel is inside Lyon airport, and you have to follow the signboards to find Moxy hotel. It’s a really fancy place with lots of designs and pictures. One issue with booking an Uber from here is that it asks for the airline even if you want a taxi for the next day. You have to find the closest air travel option and schedule the ride that way, because the map identifies this as the airport rather than a hotel.
