The hosts are a lovely couple, and I hope their new venture goes well. We had a really nice stay: the breakfast had both hot and cold options, and the rooms were roomy, spotless, and had good-quality bed linen. The hotel is charming and tucked away somewhere quiet. It does feel a little dated, though I understand the new owners are renovating bit by bit. One surprise was the extra €7 charge for a room with a bath instead of a shower. That wasn’t mentioned on the website, and if I’d known, I’d probably have chosen a shower.

We’d be happy to come back. The hosts made us feel welcome, and breakfast had a generous range of buffet options. They also gave us a very good recommendation for dinner.

We stayed for two nights in September. The rooms were clean and the bed was okay. Service and the welcome were good. Sunday breakfast disappointed me, although the midweek breakfast was all right. Commentry was very quiet in the early evening, and only one fast food place was open for a meal.

The staff were warm and very friendly, and there’s a big car park. Just be aware the hotel isn’t wheelchair accessible because there are stairs. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms have a spacious bathroom with a really large shower. The linoleum could do with replacing 😉. There’s a little welcome tray with tea or instant coffee. This is a small, no-frills hotel that’s recently been renovated. Breakfast is served in the dining room or out on the sunny terrace, with a plentiful, varied buffet. Very good value for money, I recommend it.
