We used this hotel as a stop on our travels and stayed twice. The first room had AC, and that stay was okay apart from painfully slow restaurant service and breakfast that cost too much. The second visit was a whole different story. We had the family suite, which seemed to be right over the restaurant or kitchen. It was over 30 degrees inside with no AC, and with a baby, the night was awful. We couldn't open the windows because there were no mosquito nets. Half the lights didn't work, and there was no minibar, so no water in that heat. The only bathing option was a tub that felt unsafe for children and older people. The decor was really dirty, and there weren't even small shampoo bottles in the shower. Paying 400 per night for that is scandalous. Then breakfast was a mediocre 20 euros per person, and there weren't any baby chairs. Dinner itself was okay, but service was poor. At 19:00, when the restaurant opens, they left us waiting 10-20 minutes while staff chatted among themselves. We waited another 30 minutes for a menu and had to get up to ask for one. Later, we had to ask to place our order because nobody came to serve us. That's not good service with small children, and it didn't feel family friendly. Everything, even the spa area, is outdated and looks like it's falling apart. The margin they make on your stay here seems insane.

I haven't stayed there yet, so I can only speak to the gift card service. I needed the voucher quickly, which seemed almost impossible since they had to receive payment first and then send it by post. But the front office manager was really helpful and friendly. The staff went out of their way to find a solution: he made me a personalized email with a hotel brochure that I could print and give as a gift the next day. Top service! Maxime Gensler is the BEST. The five-course meal for my mom's 80th birthday was outstanding, both in how it looked and how it tasted. We held the celebration in the big banquet room, and the staff took great care of us all evening. The owner even came over after dinner to check that we were having a good time, and we got a tour of the wine cellar too. A five-star experience. I can't wait to stay at their hotel next time!

The room was fine, but it had no air conditioning. Dinner was disappointing too: the beef described as "from the local butcher" was tough and fatty, and we left most of it. When I told the waitress, she didn't take any notice. I'd checked several times that there'd be a very safe, secure parking space for my rather special car. That wasn't what we got. Worse, a party for 85 guests was taking place that evening, and people were parking around the car. It was my worst nightmare. Reception was meant to be staffed at 6:30 am, but nobody showed up until after 7. The room information said breakfast was available from 7 am Monday to Saturday, which wasn't the case. Since we had to leave early and couldn't wait to see when the proper breakfast would be ready, the receptionist who arrived after 7 brought us a few bits for breakfast.
