Domaine des 1000 Navettes

For a €90 room listed as “deluxe,” having the toilet out on an unheated landing was a nasty surprise. That wasn’t mentioned, and the only establishment photo showing the room has a bathroom with the toilet inside. Booking.com lists a “restaurant” and “bar” as highlights, but there’s neither. They contacted the hotel for us, but the hotel refused compensation. The place was hard to find, with no sign, and the welcome at around 3 pm was lukewarm: “Oh, you’re already here?” Neither the room nor the establishment was heated because, they said, “People usually arrive later.” Yet Booking.com gave no arrival time, and nobody called or emailed to ask when we’d get there. The sheets were so damp I had to sleep fully clothed. There was no coffee maker or kettle in the room either. The TV is small and has few channels. The African-inspired restroom decor clashes with the rest of the place, though that’s a matter of taste. The rooms are spacious and the building itself is lovely, but it deserves another owner.

The owner was so kind, and the house was beautiful and well looked after. Everything was clean and welcoming. I wasn’t disappointed at all, and I’d recommend staying here.
