The pool at the main resort was lovely, just a five-minute drive away. But a week before we arrived, despite booking in 2022, we were told the place had been double booked and offered a different property that was supposedly newly refurbished. Some parts had been done, but the bathroom and toilet weren't up to the same standard. La Saulaie was a dark cottage deep in the woods with no Wi-Fi, nothing like the house we'd originally booked.

We won't book here again. We booked in 2022, and Christine took the booking and final payment and acknowledged them. When I wrote to her a week before our arrival, I got no reply. I called a few days later and was told she had overbooked. She offered us a nearby house that wasn't what we'd booked and wasn't satisfactory. With ferries and onward travel already arranged, we had no option. Be very careful if you book with Christine for this site.

The sign at the entrance says, "Welcome, reception 300m away," but when we came to ask about the services, an individual who didn't even introduce himself aggressively ordered us to leave and threatened us. We certainly won't be organizing our wedding here.

We were followed right out to the exit and beyond. We'd only wanted to ask about the services on offer, but the reception was cold, suspicious, and extremely aggressive. It didn't match the beauty of the estate at all.

The location is ideal if you're after peace and quiet. We booked the house through Airbnb and found it excellent value for money. There's a large enclosed garden that's perfect for dogs, and the pool was lovely and clean, with just the right temperature.
