The owner was especially kind and courteous, and even let us pay with holiday vouchers. We also enjoyed a hearty breakfast and a restaurant menu with plenty of choice and delicious food. The welcome was warm, and our spacious room was spotless with a comfortable bed. A charming old-fashioned hotel and restaurant with perks you don't always get at a large chain. Highly recommended in Contrexeville!

We can't recommend this place. The prices were completely out of line: 100 euros for four people, each having one syrup and one main course. Everything needs rethinking. The food itself was neither good nor bad, but the stew took an interminable time to arrive even though it should have been ready to serve. It came on aluminum plates, and the portions weren't consistent. One was so small it wouldn't have fed a 5-year-old. The cook also made a very poor impression. If we'd seen him when we arrived, he would have sent us packing without hesitation. We'd stopped in by chance for lunch. The reception and general appearance were off-putting, but we decided to give the place a chance instead of judging it by its cover. We should have left right away.

The meals made for special diets didn't suit us. They lacked flavor, some sauces were a bit too greasy, and some vegetables were overcooked. The room was clean but small, with carpet, and the bathroom was small too. The shower and the glass door between the bathroom and room didn't offer much privacy. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the location was ideal for the thermal baths, parking was right outside, and the park view was lovely. We chose this hotel after reading its glowing reviews.

The gentleman seemed to be handling reception, the rooms, and the service himself. My mussel couscous casserole wasn't what I expected, had no flavor, and felt expensive for what you got. I didn't feel like ordering dessert, and we won't be back.
