Our bikes were securely locked in the courtyard, which made this a great overnight stop while cycling nearby. The food was excellent and homemade, including salmon smoked right there. We also got such kind, friendly service, and the location was excellent. A perfect five-star stay for cyclists.

We both ordered the crème brûlée, and it was the best we’ve had so far: fresh, creamy, and delicious. We also had the set menu, with snails and terrine, salmon and the meat of the day, then dessert. Everything was amazing, and there were plenty of happy customers. We came for dinner while visiting Villers, my partner from NZ and me from Aus. The lady in the shop was lovely. She said she only spoke a little English, but we had no trouble chatting. The waitstaff were patient with our terrible French and did their best. Our server was wonderful, and a slightly grey-haired man kept a nearby child amused and everyone happy. Five stars, and I’d recommend stopping in for a meal if you’re in the area.

The meal was tasty and good value, and the recently renovated en suite was the best one we had during our holiday. There’s a small car park across the road. Getting to the rooms means using a steep, narrow staircase, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. I was initially nervous about going in because the entrance looked like a vape shop, but that worry disappeared as soon as we were welcomed. The owners, staff, and customers were all helpful, warm, and polite.

The food was very good, and it’s a lovely place to stay.
