Camping le Domaine des Bans

The employees were friendly, and it was fairly quiet in May. Our clean mobile home had one bedroom and was equipped for cooking, though the shower water pressure was weak. The grass and flowers beside it had grown over quite a bit, attracting plenty of insects. With small children, I had to keep an eye out for them.

We arrived around 7 pm, at dinner time, and neither of our two family units had gas or hot water. We couldn't cook dinner or wash the kids. By 1 pm the next day, four hours after we had politely asked for help, both units were still without either, even though we'd seen staff drive by at least 15 times. We'd booked two family units and paid extra to have them close to the pool. An elderly family member became ill. When we called, we were told cancellation had to be done by email and according to their cancellation policy. We tried to check in the next day, only to find our booking had been canceled without a refund and the units we'd paid extra for had been given away. Eventually, they refunded us 50 euros. After we checked in, everything else seemed fine except the outdoor areas, which looked untouched for months, as if they expected us to clean them.

The photos on the first page feature the pool heavily, but when we arrived it was empty and closed. Apparently it only opens for two months a year. I booked last week because the place looked beautiful and seemed to have a great pool for the kids. If you come here, expect the unexpected.

Our pitch was spacious, though it didn't offer much privacy, and the main pool is a real draw. The site itself was fine, just nothing exceptional. Some things, like the toilets, felt worn out. Also, the wifi didn't work at all for anyone in our group.
