When our wedding guests arrived at the cottage we’d rented for them, we were horrified to learn that the rooms had bed bugs. We contacted the owner, Mr. Jérôme Charrier, and he knew about the problem. He said he hadn’t done the final disinfection that was scheduled before our arrival because he had gone on vacation. That was a serious professional mistake. Our guests had to sleep on hallway floors and keep to only the bare essentials. They also had to disinfect all their belongings and vehicles, which led to extra costs. A year ago, we contacted our legal protection insurance to seek compensation from the owner. He’s acting in bad faith, refusing acceptable compensation and refusing to admit he skipped the scheduled final disinfection before his vacation. Shameful.

The quiet was exceptional, and our room was adapted for disabled guests, with a large double bed. Breakfast was sumptuous and included in the room price, a lovely finish to a completely relaxing stay. Simply magnificent. I highly recommend it.

The place looked lovely, but it was infested with bedbugs. Until the owner deals with it, I strongly advise against staying here. The bites are bad enough, and there’s also the risk of taking them home. We had to bag every item and leave everything in a freezer at -30 degrees for at least three days to kill any bugs that might have got into our belongings. Good luck to whoever comes next.
